Abstract

Peat water is generally found in Indonesia and is most commonly found on the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra. It meets the quantity of drinking water but does not have the quality of drinking water even though it has been treated using conventional technology because the parameters contained in peat water still exceed the quality standards set by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia number 492 of 2010 concerning Drinking Water Quality Requirements. In this study, various peat water treatments from various in-line filtration treatments will be reviewed. There is an in-line treatment process that can process peat water into drinking water by coagulation and ultrafiltration processes from the membrane. The research methodology used is a literature review related to peat water treatment using coagulants and membranes used to remove contaminants contained in peat water. The conclusion from the literature review is peat water treatment using AL2(SO4)3 coagulant because it is effective in reducing turbidity, alkalinity, neutralizing pH, removing organic substances contained in peat water and using polysulfone membrane (PSf) which can remove color content, organic substances, chloride, TDS, hardness, iron, manganese, zinc and sulfate
